Ammonites are a rather large and diverse group of marine animals. The first ammonites appeared in the Devonian Period and survived through the Cretaceous, approximately 400 to 66 million years ago! They are closely related to modern coleoids which include octopuses, squi and cuttlefish. These specimens were sliced in half and the inside face was polished. Sold as a set. |
